This online course is packed with over 6 hours of video content specifically designed for woodwind and brass playing band directors that need to teach a beginning percussion class.

I have been working on designing and perfecting this course for over a year! My intention was to design a digital video library "textbook" for my students to add to their professional libraries if they wanted additional percussion pedagogy resources to help them in their first couple years of teaching.

If you get lucky enough to work at a campus that has multiple directors, the beginning percussion class is easily one of the most dreaded classes to get assigned to teach. Trust me, I hear about it every year from other teachers! I understand that It can be overwhelming having to learn and be able to teach multiple percussion instruments.

The goal of this course is not to overload teachers with everything a percussionist will encounter throughout their career. I understand that your time is very valuable, so I would like to only show you the absolute most essential things directors need to cover in the class in order to teach big picture concepts that exist on all levels of percussion education. Those are things like posture, hand technique, sound production, timing, dynamic control, intonation, phrasing, and the ability to play at a variety of tempi.
